Fall is a busy time for the North American Region of WONCA. The American Academy of Family Medicine held its Congress and Assembly in October and in November the College of Family Physicians of Canada held its board meeting, Scientific Assembly, and Besrour Conference in Quebec City.
WONCA EMR president at WHO regional committee
WONCA East Mediterranean Region president, Dr Mohammed Tarawneh, was invited to participate in the 61st session of the WHO regional committee for the WHO East Mediterranean region (EMRO) which was held in Tunis from 19-22 October 2014.
WONCA EMR meeting with Kuwait Society of Family Practice
In Kuwait, WONCA leaders, Dr Mohammed Tarawneh, WONCA East Mediterranean region president and Prof Nabil Kurashi, Immediate past WONCA East Mediterranean region president, had an official meeting with the Kuwait Society of Family Practice (KSFP) section of the Kuwait Medical Association (KMA).
WONCA at the WHO South Asia regional committee
Health Organization's (WHO) Regional committee for South East Asia (SEAR) was held in Dhaka, Bangladesh from September 9-12, 2014. WONCA was represented by Professor Pratap Narayan Prasad, WONCA South Asia region (SAR) president.
EMR Meeting on Noncommunicable Diseases in Primary Health Care
WONCA EMR president, Dr Mohammed Tarawneh, and Dr Oraib Alsmadi, WONCA EMR honorary treasurer, were invited as temporary advisors to attend the WHO EMR meeting on strengthening the integration and management of noncommunicable diseases in primary health care
A virtual dialogue on the training of specialists in family medicine
A group of family doctors had the opportunity to participate, in a virtual dialogue on the training of specialists in Family Medicine under universal coverage “Diálogo Virtual sobre la formación de especialistas en Medicina Familiar en el marco de la Cobertura Universal de Salud”. This event was promoted by PAHO.
Ramnik and Jyoti Parekh create a scholarship for young doctors
