Countdown to WONCA Prague

Ten days and counting...

In ten day's time, the WONCA 2013 World conference will be launched in Prague, Czech Republic. The dates are Tuesday June 25 to Saturday June 29, 2013. We anticipate over 4,000 delegates for nearly four days of stimulating plenaries, presentations, workshops and seminars – but most of all it’s an opportunity to meet old friends, make new friends and to network with colleagues from all around the world.

Dr Margaret Chan, Director General of the World Health Organization, is Guest of Honour at the opening ceremony on Tuesday 25 June is a great boost to us and to family medicine. We look forward with anticipation to what she has to say to the family doctors of the world. During her speech she will also be launching the Second Edition of the WONCA Guidebook: The Contribution of Family Medicine to Improving Health Systems, edited by incoming WONCA President, Professor Michael Kidd. Professor Rich Roberts hands over the presidency of WONCA to Professor Kidd in the second plenary session at 09.15 on Thursday 27. Also in this session, the new WONCA Executive will be introduced and WONCA Awards announced.
